After two decades in telecom and digital transformation, leading technology and regulatory functions across Nepal and Cambodia, I saw a growing need for trusted partners who could bridge AI innovation, cybersecurity, and digital resilience.

We are a Nepal-based cybersecurity company blending security architecture, governance, and hands‑on engineering. We partner with leadership and teams to assess risk, harden infrastructure, and design pragmatic controls that scale with your business.
Vishal Upadhyay is a seasoned technology and policy leader with more than 18 years of experience shaping the digital, IT/Telecommunications, and cybersecurity landscape across South and Southeast Asia. As the Chief Executive Officer of Cybershield Asia, he leads the company's mission to empower enterprises and governments through digitalization, AI-driven transformation, and cyber resilience.
Before founding Cybershield Asia, Vishal served as Chief Regulatory Officer and Chief Information Officer at NCELL Axiata, Nepal's leading telecom operator, where he collaborated closely with government ministries, regulators, and global bodies such as the ITU and GSMA to advance digital-infrastructure policy, spectrum management, and data-governance frameworks. His work has directly contributed to Nepal's evolving digital-economy roadmap.
Vishal also served as Chief Information Officer at Smart Axiata, Cambodia where he Led strategic IT transformation aligning with Axiata Group's Digital Telco 4.0 vision, optimizing OSS/BSS systems, introducing agile DevOps practices, and building cross-border technology governance between markets. Instrumental in rolling out Smart's early digital-service portfolio and data-innovation initiatives.
Under his leadership, Cybershield Asia is emerging as a next-generation IT-transformation company, integrating AI & Data Intelligence, Cybersecurity Operations (SOC, SIEM, GRC), and Cloud & Digital Infrastructure services to help organizations build secure, data-driven, and future-ready ecosystems.
Finance and technology professional with over 15 years of experience in auditing, accounting, taxation, consultancy, and operations management. Has worked with leading organizations in Nepal and Cambodia, including Ncell Axiata, Smart Axiata, and British Red Cross.
Has worked with international organizations and led system development, automation, and process improvement initiatives. Experienced in building financial structures, compliance frameworks, governance systems, and operational processes from the ground up.
